Barry Wolcott has combined a career in emergency medicine with an academic interest in clinical algorithms and senior management experience with a disease management company from its start-up through initial public offering and subsequent mergers. He has been:

Barry has maintained a clinical practice in Emergency Medicine (currently at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland) at varying levels since 1975, despite his other roles. He is Associate Professor in, and was the first Chairman of, the Department of Operational and Emergency Medicine at the F. Edward Hebert School of Medicine in Washington, D.C.

Barry earned his M.D. at Johns Hopkins University and pursued post-graduate studies at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C. Over a period of seven years, he served as an officer and president of the Society for Academic Emergency Medicine. He was a member of the Editorial Board of the Annals of Emergency Medicine for more than six years. He is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians.
